Another day to put past us and hopeful progress. Today during rounds they took away her Diuril and Spiraldactone diuretics and left her on IV lasix for now. They will allow a few days to pass and hopefully repeat a ECHO early next week to see if her left ventricle handles the extra fluid. Due to the weight loss they increased her G-tube feedings to 20ml/hr in hopes that tomorrow she will gain some weight. We had a little hiccup this afternoon when she vomited about 20 ml all over herself. THey restarted her feeds and will watch it. Overall there is not to much exciting to report except that Gina the cardiology NP talked to us today about the course of what may be happening in the next few weeks. Arlyn gets grouped into a combination of left hypo plastic left heart and aortic coarctation when it comes to how it is projected for her to feed. The NP indicated that to qualify to go home she must be taking about 1/2 of her feeds by mouth. She also indicted she may benefit from a longer term gastric feeding tube if we find that the progress will be slower but we will not know for a little while. It really is all dependent on Arlyns timeline and how she does in general. If all goes well we could be home in as early as 10-14 days with no bumps and may be a nasal gastric tube. Please continue to pray for our babys speedy recovery.
