SO…yesterday mommy stayed at Arlyns bedside until 2300 and for 8 hours did chest PT every 30 minutes for the whole 8 hours. I was hopeful that little Arlyns lung would pop open and we went upstairs at 23:00 and slept until 3:30 to come back down and see what the X-ray indicated knowing that we tried our hardest to get that lung open. At 0400 the X-ray tech came and they took a picture and we waited. I asked to hold her not knowing what was going to happen and the doctor came in and said that her left lung was completely inflated and they definitely would not be intubating her today. The team restarted her tube feeding and she will be getting fortified breast milk once she is to goal (17ml/hr) currently she is at 12ml/hr and going up 2ml every 6 hours so hopefully by this evening she will be tolerating her goal. They also advanced her gastric tube because it had worked its way back and they could see she still had air in her tummy on X-ray.

Arlyn has already started to wean off the Cpap and went from PIP 8 to PIP of 5so that will continue throughout today with more chest PT. We slept for a little bit this morning because we hadn't gotten back in the room until 0600 this morning. Overall we couldn't be happier with Arlyns progress and we hope today is smooth and we can shower her in love and kisses.

So much less stuff than before, slowly but surely we are pealing back the extra equipment and exposing our little miracle.
