Happy Due Date Arlyn, you made it to your 40 week gestation marker!! This morning they did a chest X-ray at 0400 and it looked a little bit worse that the previous X-ray. Even with an extra dose of Lasix she is still not net negative when it comes to fluid volume so again today we are weaning the Cpap from 8 to 6 and will be giving her additional Diuril with the lasix to help. They also mentioned possibly continuing it if they feel with her hypopastic left heart needs more offload it may help her. Today they will be repeating her ECHO to check her diaphragm and heart function to assure that there is not a problem with function in relation to the fluid in her lungs. They have decided since she lost 1/2 oz overnight bringing her to 6 lbs 10.7oz up from her original birth weight of 6lbs 8 oz. they will increase her fortification today. They really want her to grown and get stronger.
At 0830 we were able to talk with the geneticist this morning and he was great about explaining about Arlyns form of Turner Syndrome. I didn't realize that we would be followed by genetics after discharge and as long as all of her neonatal screen comes back ok we would not need a pediatric endocrinologist until she is about age 5 at which point they may want to start hormone replacement therapy to help with her growth. Nothing to surprising in our visit and happy to know we found out early.
Grandpa Burley and Uncle Jesse were up this morning for a visit before work and Arlyn was happy to see them. Appreciate all of the support from our family and friends! Feeling so loved by each and every one of you.
