Today was quite the work out with Chest PT every hour from mommy and daddy! Arlyn received all of her diuretics and hopefully we will see a difference tomorrow when we try and wean to high flow once again. After the ECHO we got great news that the original fear that her diaphragm on the left was not working was taken off the table today! She has good movement synchrony on both right and left. We were thrilled to see this in the ECHO and very hopeful that this will not be a reason why she has a hard time weaning. I was able to bath Arlyn this morning and changed her into a sleeper that I believe Genovine had when she was a baby, this is her first official "outfit" she has worn. I absolutely love all the swaddles that Arlyn received for the baby shower because they have been put into good use here. After a bath and her ECHO we were able to watch as they changed her chest tube site and her incision site on her chest. Overall everything looked very good, amazing to me that her surgical incision is almost completely healed shut. Today her Chest Tube drainage was 48 ml and they like to wait until it is less that 20 ml before taking it out but we are getting to that goal. Today we relaxed in the chair and Grandma Tic Tac came to visit in the afternoon. She got to see Arlyn open her eyes and look around a little bit when receiving Chest PT. After increasing her fortified feeds with one teaspoon of formula she has continued to tolerate all her feed goals cross fingers she has weight gain tomorrow. Today was a good day and we hope to continue to do chest PT until later tonight to optamize what we are able to do here. Please pray for our baby, we have been at a standstill for the last several days with her breathing and every single little bit helps.
Turner Syndrome Fact:
- Researchers believe TS is not an inherited condition. Also, they know that parents do not cause—and cannot prevent—Turner syndrome in their daughters.
